It was mentioned that you all are playing with ideas about modifing the titles under peoples names. I dont know how difficult this would be but my idea is make peoples titles fit thier posting habits. For instance say you mostly post about theories then maybe you would be a dharma scientist, if you post alot about the others maybe your their leader, etc etc etc.........

we are all in our own membergroups at the moment. each member group has a specific name with certain privileges. and only contributors and above (mods,admins, super mods) can edit their own title to their liking. What we could do is make certain member groups for the people that are constantly in certain boards like you mentioned. Adding on to your idea: we could make people in those certain member groups be able to me a limited moderator just in that certain board. Which would allow you to split and merge topics and posts to clean up and organize the section you post in the most.

yes, because we would really want 2 or 3 really responsible people (not JAF  ) to be in each section. or each major section anyways. But people that responsible are usually contributors after a while and i think that contributors can merge and split and do maintenance anywhere but im not sure. *checking* no. actually the only power contributors have is to be able to move topics. |

I moderate on another site that gets a ton of traffic, I think we are to 20,000 posts per day and its picking upmore and more we are coming out of the sow season right now. As a moderator I can merge threads, edit posts, ban trouble makers, stuff like that

i really dont know much about the limited power mod thing. I am a full mod but to my knowledge we dont have any lesser postions. I think we got about 10 mods and we all have the ability to do what we need to to keep things running smoothly

Im really not sure ben. I think I can do those things but I have never actually had an ocassion to find out. The site is so busy with ravid football fans that I am normally busy playing peacekeeper and keeping the threads organized, that I dont have much time to get involved in anything else. |
