Did you know - that the creators of LOST signed the actor that plays Hurley before they even had a script for the show. They wanted him to play a character and signed him to a contract about 6mths before any other actor.

I heard a rumor that the character of Jack was supposed to die in the pilot... can anyone confirm this?
That woulda sucked... he's one of my fave's.

yeh that's true, he was originally going to be played by Michael Keaton who didn't want to do a series. But the writer's realised that it might put people off watching if they invested themselves into a character who died straight away so they changed it so that Jack didn't die but then they needed a new actor which is where Matthew Fox came in. If you have the season one dvd set its on the extras there somewhere when they talk about the casting. Kate was originally meant to be the 'hero' and she followed Rose's story really, she was newly married and looking for her husband who was in the tail section. If you have the dvds watch that section, it's really interesting and you can see how they came up with some of the characters

Yeah, i've never seen any extras that are on the DVD's....

Michael Keaton woulda been odd... but he's from my hometown, so I would have enjoyed it.

the only thing that I knew was Jack was going to be killed off in the pilot. I know nothing else. I should though, what kind of a person am I?

Did you know that Marsha Thomason (Naomi) auditioned for three different parts on Lost? She first auditioned for the part of Juliet, but I can't imagine anyone other than Elizabeth Mitchell as Juliet. Next, she auditioned for the part of Nikki, but that roll went to Kiele Sanchez. She finally landed the role of the mysterious parachuter who claims she was sent was Penny

Did you know that Ben was to be killed of after 3 episodes. When Sayid attempts to shoot Ben and Ana Lucia deflects it, he was supposed to die. But due to Michael Emmersons acting skills the character became Ben(originally he was supposed to be just the fake Henry Gale)
