Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the last time we saw Locke he was at the bottom of the pit, "dead", with all the original Dharma guys? Then when I saw the season 4 promo he was alive in it, right? I could tell why the writers would want to bring him back, but they should have left that a surprise. Unless the clips of him, in the season 4 promo, are clips from seasons 1-3, which might be a possibility. If anyone knows anything or has other ideas they would be much appreciated! Jan 31!!!

When locke was in the pit, he saw walt. and locke was alive. the next time we saw locke he threw a knife into naomi's back. (naomi was the parachute girl). What happened between him lying in the pit, and throwing the knife, we dont know.

He also threatened to kill Jack if Jack tried using the phone to communicate with the people on the ship...It was the scene in the finale where the Losties had Ben tied up to a tree, and his face was all bloody.

and then Jack continued to talk on the walkie talkie so Locke just walked off and that was the last he was seen on the season finale.

Yeah! That's right! I think I need to watch the last few episodes of season 3 again, because I completely forgot that he did come back. I was just focusing on how he got out. My best theory is the "island" brought him back, or could Jacob have played a role in it? Either way I'm happy he's back because he is my favorite character on the show.
