When Hurley follows the rope into the jungle to find Danielle, is this the same rope that Charlie and Desmond follow under the water in the last episode of Season 3? Why would Danielle be using it? I thought it was a communication wire between two Dharma stations? I'm confused, can anyone explain?

i think it was the same rope but hurley followed it into the other direction.  I always thought it was so that the DI could find where the looking glass station was...but I could be wrong.  I think Hurley only followed that rope cause thats what Sayid did....

Yeah that's right about the looking glass. So, the cable was to lead the DI to the looking glass but Sayid found it and followed it. It just so happened that he ended up in Danielle's trap but Danielle didn't actually have anything to do with the cable itself. It was just a coincidence that it lead Sayid into her trap? And then Hugo just followed the cable coz he thought it would lead him to Danielle?

Is that right?

yeh thats what i was figuring, and if you want to read waaaay too much into it you could guess that danielle put her trap by the wire to try and trap 'the others'
