Did anyone think that it was weird when eye patch guy said that the name of the cat was Nadia (Sayids old love)? Then when they do the flash backs the lady the he tortured had a cat the looked exactly the same? Do you think that it is a coincidence or do you think that it actually means something? If so what? I thought it was kinda eery.

I don't know, it might of just been an easter egg though.  The cats did look a lot alike one another.....Hmm.

I think lost just throws things like in that to make people think.  IMO there is no way they are going to be able to explain every little thing like that.  It seems like every week they do something along those lines but we rarely get answers.

But then again, maybe the writers will come up with a creative way to explain a lot of things that might otherwise be unexplainable.......Maybe they can come up with a way to explain everything?  I doubt it, but I'm optimistic.....

I'm pretty sure that you can distinguish between male and female cats (The woman knew her cat was male although she never revealed his name) and Patchy told us that his cats name was Nadia (named after the gymnist).  Although I believe the writers probably did use the same cat and just portrayed it as male in the flashback and female on the island, it is probably just an easter egg or has no significance other than to just give Sayid something to think about... ie Nadia, Paris and his past in Iraq.

Um, its not like it showed the parts, I was just commenting on the fact that the looked almost exactly alike and it was odd that it had the name of his ex love, I was not suggesting it was the same cat.

Yeh Crystal ur defo rite....I jus checked screencaps of the cat(s) & they are defo the same cat. I think the way LOST portrait the cats in that episode it was supposed 2 be the same cat from Sayids past also.

I just looked it up and all kinds of stuff comes up for that. Obviously they did that for a reason, no matter what that reason is, there is a reason. I just wish I knew what.

LoL, I wasn't suggesting that they were trying to let us know the gender of the cats by showing parts, I was trying to say that the woman in Paris would know if her cat was male or female and Patchy would know if his cat were male or female.  But, the woman in Paris did call her cat HE and Patchy said his cat's name was Nadia.  Some cats, male or female can be given neutral names like Midnight, Shadow, Mittens, Peanut; but Nadia is definitely a female name, that's all I was trying to say, and that although they were portrayed as different genders (IMO) they were probably the same cat.

Yeh i see where ur cumin from Atticted2Hockey......I re-watched enter77 last nite while most of u lucky people were watchin episode 12 Sad Sad Anywho yeh Patchy's cat names Nadia named after the gymnast who was a 'Female' & the crazy torturer misses was always refering to her cat as a 'male' when telling us stories about the cats past!

However screen caps are the exact same cats......... Wink

But then again, we are talking about lost here.  Maybe Patchy (I like that) is really twisted and gives anti-sexual names to all of the animals at his farm.
