Ok, I noticed in one of charlies flashbacks, you know before he saves Sayid's girl from that dude.. You know how his playin' his guitar and it rains..
Well, remember in Desmond's flash back.. Like he goes back in time, and he see's Charlie there, and his like "I know this.. It's Gonna Rain Now!" and it rains.. Well how come Charlie doesn't remember that? Does it NOT effect his past?
Yeah I'm kinda confused on this.. so..

I am confused by it too. I have heard that it was the same time, but I also have heard that it was a different time even though he is singing the same song and it it raining. I saw some pics and he is wearing 2 different outfits. I don't know what they are going for.

Most logical explanation is tha it is just another day...after all Charlie didn't have a job so he most likely went to that area several times to play and get money.
As far as the rain...well, it;s England,,,that is an everyday occurence....

Om the other hand maybe this singing episode is either before or after Desmond's memory...First (or second) time Des may not have not gone for the job interview at that buildiing.

Plus Charlies actions are completely different. The thing that stands out to me is that the first time with Desmond Charlie closes the guitar case and keeps the guitar in his hand . The one from last week he definitely puts the guitar in the case and they even had a little sticker on the side that I'm sure they wanted us to see. It read "i was here moments ago", but it definitely wasn't moments ago, like crystal says diferent day, diferent outfits and such.

They're trying to trick us, trying to cast doubt on the idea that Desmond really did travel back into the past...
Why?
probably because he's about to do it again -- maybe when he flips the switch in the underwater station

You know that's a really good point CW, Ive thought about that kind of stuff with alot of things that have happened where you would think that someone would say such and such because you know that it would be something that you would do or say yourself, you know?
An example off the top of my head that I can think of was with Nikki and Palo; when she found the nicotine gum in the sand and he had just walked off, I thought I would have stopped him right there and said hey what is this Palo, where did you get this from?
So I wonder if it's not like you're saying that they try to trick us or force our thinking to what they want. Those rascals!

ok, i went through the threads until i came across one about desmond so i could throw this in there. i was rewatching 'flashes before your eyes' and i noticed that the name of the red paint desmond was using was called 'future'.
someone probably noticed this as well already...i just didn't see it posted anywhere yet...i wonder if it has any meaning...why would it say future if he "traveled back in time"...idk.

Maybe it's an easter egg that is telling us that he doesn't visit the past from the future, but instead, sees his future from the past....Did that make sense?

So instead of his present self traveling into the past, his past self is traveling into the future and glimpsing things that have yet to come.

totally agree with whoever said about "you wouldn't necessarily remember what one crazy guy said/looked like", this is pretty pointless, but did you notice in that ep that charlie sings Oasis and Wonderwall to Desmond- "Maybe, your gonna be the one that saves me"..........
