Okay, they are off the island apparently. I feel that the funeral had to either be Ben or....wait for it Michael???
My main question is, how the heck are they going to tie from the call being made to being off the island.
Second question, why would I want to watch the show if they do get off???

any ideas.

okay...Jack asked kate why she didn't go to the funeral and she replied why would I...she obviously didn't like the person...nobody did that is why nobody was at the funeral...it was Locke ... nobody liked him at home and nobody from the island would like him after he tried to stop them from getting rescued ...as to the whole getting rescued thing my guess is that Ben wasn't lying and the next few seasons are going to be all about that ... but I have no idea what the flash forward thing was about then ...maybe a possible future? i don't know

I am writing this 5 minutes after watching the show so it is fresh in my mind)

       So, the first thing that pops into my mind is that when i kept seeing jack with the beard, i thought it was his past as many others probably did.  Then when he called Kate I knew it had to be afterward. Another reason that supports the fact that it was in the future is that she mentioned jack pulling people out of wreckage still. Furthermore, Jack mentioned gold passes "they" gave us. I am guessing "they" is the flight company that crashed.
       Then i started wondering who was inside the casket at the funeral parlor.  It had to be someone both Kate and Jack knew.  And, Kate said to Jack, "I have to get going...He will wonder where I am".  "He" might be sawyer. 
        Ben said that the people that were on the boat would kill them all. And charlie found out that it wasn't Penelope's boat either.  But, Naomi did have a picture of penelope and Desmond together.  If jack and the rest did get off the island using that boat and didn't get killed, who was it??
       

         Please reply if you have any questions, theories, or other important facts i did miss

Something had to have happened for Jack to be in the shape he is in...  Remember they did not give a time frame as to when they finally made it off the island.

well my theory before watching this was that when they crashed on the island they went back in time for who knows how long, and that would explain how jack's dad is still alive in the "flashforwards" they showed tonight. i thought that sawyer was in the casket, since they both knew him, and sawyer had no family or friends. the island may have some drug-like properties, which may explain charlie's relative ease in getting over his heroin addiction, and how jack started taking oxycodon after he left. this still doesn't explain the episode when juliet shows the present news, or how penelope can talk to them if they are back in time. I think walt was a hallucination, and that locke really knows what is going on. That's all I have to say for now Cheesy

My question is, if it indeed was a flash forward, why does Jack imply that his father is still alive and drunk, working at the hospital?  I really hope we're not going down alternate universe paths.  I fear they are going to go back in time and raise Charlie from the dead.

I was wondering why Jack talked about his father has if he was alive. If that was a glimpse of the future, why would Jack's father still be alive. Also Ben asked Jack why he wanted so desperatly to get off the island, since his dad was dead and his wife had remarried another man. Why then in this "possible" future would his ex-wife want to see him again ??

I'm a bit confused. I'm not sure their going to be rescuded just yet. I think they might stretch this thing on for another entire season. This "possible" future, might not be before the last episodes of the series.

good theory. Walt maybe a hallucination or maybe appearing purposfully to john.  Remember from back in season one the Walt sort of had ESP? Well maybe walt can see whats going on and he is guiding john. But i dont know where walt and michael are now.

I would bet that the first couple of episodes, if not the whole season will deal with them after getting off the island with flashbacks showing what happened during the gap,

i tried looking at the paper on my HD but its still not clear enough, i dont think its Locke as I believe he goes off into the forrest and they dont find him, i think that whenever they go back they will find him running the island

two questions im wondering for next season: Will they just take the Lost crew or will they try to find the others who have been murdering them. And how did Kate beat her murder rap.

Ok. Here's my theory about all of this.

The survivors have ended up in an alternate reality/universe.  What Naomi said about everyone on Oceanic 815 dying was true.....in that reality.

The flash forward can support this if you look at it a certain way.

Did anyone notice that Jack had said "Go upstairs and get my father"?  Could be he was just wacked out on drugs/alcohol or could be his father never did die in that reality.

They kept calling Jack the hero....twice.

Notice that Kate was able to be reached by phone?  If she was on the run from the law, she wouldn't have a cell phone or a place where her man would miss her.  Could be that in this reality, Kate was never running from the cops or perhaps she was pardoned after they were found.  Would also be why she didn't seem too keen about going back.

As far as the funeral? Anyone's guess as to who it was.  Obviously someone who had no family or friends.  Locke? Sawyer? Ben?

An alternate reality would help explain why/how some of these things have ended up on the island.  Mr Eko's brother's plane....Black Rock....

Again, all just speculation.  It's just yet another carrot the writers/producers keep dangling out there.  "Look how much we know and you don't! Ha Ha!"

The funeral has to be someone they don't like because Kate said : "why would i go there" and the man who's waiting for her has to be sawyer right ? I'm really confused and i can't wait to see what other people think.

There is no doubt I think that the last 5 minutes of the show were in the future... Why does Jack want to get back to the island sooo bad? 

I think that everyone that was on the flight is dying off one by one... And every time Jack looks in the newspaper he see someone else from the losties that's died.  Not sure... I've been trying to piece it together, but I'm LOST.

OH! i forgot something else.  The people in the line at the pharmacy called Jack a hero. I wonder weather they are talking about saving the woman from the car wreck? or leading his people from the plane wreck...

   I sure hope we dont have an x-files let down or we don't have a space-time continuum theory or a dimension type thing...I can't wrap my mind around those...if the writers do that in the next couple seasons LOST will lose SOO many viewers

Your theory about the losties dying off is a good one. It's pretty obvious jack wanted to end is life because he felt he had no control over it. He blamed himself for getting everyone off the island.

So let's suppose that they have the ability to play with time and that's how Jack's father is alive in the future. Rather than the person Kate needs to get back to being Sawyer would it also be plausable that her step father is alive and it's him? This would also explain why she isn't in the clink.
