Well, for those who have seen tonights episode, you probably understand the shows title (Not in Portland).  A company that is looking to hire Juliet as a fertility specialist wants to relocate her to Portland.  She explains that she cannot because of the control her ex-husband has over her, and that the only thing that could change that is if her ex-husband were hit by a bus.  Well it turns out this company has reach beyond our understanding, because they somehow twisted fate and made it so, her ex-husband was ultimately hit by that bus, and she was able to take the position, which turns out, was Not in Portland.  Instead, it turns out it is on an island no where near Portland(Oregon or Maine).  The man that offered Juliet the position is going to have a bigger part of the show in my opinion.  It seems to me that he might turn out to be Jacob (remember Jacobs list, the list that Pickett mentioned last season?).

Another thing that I noticed tonight - If you are a fan of Grey's Anatomy, you might have caught this a while ago, but tonight, there was another reference to Grey's Anatomy.  Obviously there are 2 Dr. Shephard's on Grey's Anatomy, and then there is Jack  Shephard.  Well, Dr. Preston Burke from Grey's Anatomy now has his very own LOST counterpart, Dr. Juliet Burke.  Interesting, isn't it?  I don't know that it was intentional, but it's there all the same.  Interesting that they are all doctors to.

Juliet was a major part of tonights show, she was in nearly every scene.  I can't complain, I like Juliet.  She surprised me when she said "if you have to... kill them".  I knew that she was going to say that from the previews, but, I didn't know that she would immediately dismiss Jacks attempt and go straight to threatening Kate and Sawyers life.  She also shocked me when she shot Pickett.  I figured she'd give him more of a warning, but I guess she understood how unstable Pickett is, and that she probably wouldn't convince him otherwise, so shoot first ask questions later came into play here.

Overall, the show was very good, it was all I had hoped it would be.  We were given a good amount of information tonight, and it was a nice change to get some background on one of the Others.  It was also interesting to find out that Juliet was being held on the island against her will.  They built up to what Ben had said to Juliet in the operating room with a bit much drama, I actually expected to find out what Ben had said to her to be a bit more revealing.  Especially with all of the drama that led to her telling Jack.  I'd bet Jack was pretty disappointed that he didn't ask her a better question, cause the answer, though slightly revealing, really didn't satisfy my curiosity.

Alright, that's my review of the show, what did you think of it?

OMG, I was very surprised when Juliets ex-husband got hit by a bus. I was thinking "now how the heck is that going to happen?" Only on LOST right? At that point I starting thinking that must be Dharma wanting to hire her or something and we all know they  have special powers of some sort. Well than not to mention when she was in the room signing the papers about his death that guy that offered her the job shows up and brings things up that he would not have known. If it was me I would have asked more questions before going and working for them, unless she was forced to.

I did notice the names from Greys Anatomy. I watch that show too, but I really don't think that it has anything to do with it. I think it was a coincidence, after all those are pretty common last names.

At first I was thinking that Juliet was kinda on the bad side when she did threaten to have Sawyer and Kate killed, but in a way I think that was a show. I still realize even though she shot Pickett doesn't mean that she is all that good though either. If she was told she could leave the island she could be doing whatever she can to get off herself. So I guess we still really don't know, Is she good or is she bad? Is that even what Ben really even told her?

I think with Juliet it really isn't a question of her being good or bad.  In her core, I believe she is a good person, she's been placed in a bad situation that causes her actions to be self serving, which gives off the impression that she may be a bad guy.  Maybe once we see some more Other centric episodes, we'll start to discover that most of the Others aren't evil, instead they might be much like Juliet, just in a bad situation.

Something that I didn't mention before was the brain wash setup they had poor Carl in.  Room 23??  Well, I'm sure there is a room 22 that has someone in it undergoing other mind altering experiments, and a room 21 and so on...But it just returns us to the numbers.  They could have used room 4, but with room 23, it makes it apparent that there are indeed other rooms, possibly more than 23, but definitely at least 23, that are possibly filled with the same types of experiments and mind torture devices.  I wonder who is in those rooms?

Oh yeah, I was going to post about that brain washing thing. Do you think thats what they were doing? It was almost kinda freaky. Kinda reminded me of that movie The Ring. You know the scary video tape? That has to be what they do to some of them people to get them to do what they want them to do.

Yeah, it would explain some of their actions.  I think some of them go there by their own free will, but after they are there, they aren't allowed to leave.  Ben is different though, he said he spent his entire life there, unless he meant that figuratively.

LOL.  He would have had to know that Juliet's ex would be backing out into the street.

Ok guys, two things i think are of note here. When Sawyer lifts him and they are taking him out of the room, Gerald de Groot was on the screen. Secondly, Sawyer seems to get entranced by the screen until he is snapped out of it by Kate. I'm intrigued to see what Carl does when he gets to the other island??

Hello there i just watched the new episode (Not in Portland) i have some thoughs myself which i will share & just overall wondering every1s point of view or questions etc etc on the episode.

Ben told/asked Juliet to let him live & help Kate & Sawyer leave the island if she did this in return he would LET her leave the island. Does that mean that Ben recruited her & other peeps on the island & he has the power 2 say who goes & stays???

He let Michael & Walt go & now says he will let Juliet go!!!

What use think?

I don't think that Ben was the one that recruited her.

Yeh, it was probably Ben that drove the bus, I wonder if Kate and Sawyer will get to the Island after being released.

i know this is another old post but it reminded me of something so i wanted to add it here. remember at the beginning of the episode where Juliet is walking down a hallway to her sister's room or whatever? well she passes Ethan in that hallway but i don't know why that is. This is before she meets him or the Others so...i don't know...i just thought it was strange...like they were already watching her or something. Anyone have any ideas on him being in that opening scene?
