Why can't they just cut the cable?  What are those women doing under the water?  Does this mean there is still a submarine left?  Those people need nourishment and food, and do radio signals travel through water into the sky?

It was strange how Charlie was pleasantly smiling that a "greatest hits" album was released when the outside world found the wreckage and had a big funeral service for him.

They have to be dead.  This is to crazy.  Of course their real lives (flashbacks) were all insanely crazy and fantastic.

Did everyone forget that there was that parachute drop of supplies in the night way back in season 2?  Yes, food was dropped from the sky in present era.

Post away, I love you guys.... Wink  Nobody at my work watches the show, so you all keep me going.

I think the cable is just an Anchor according to the blue prints Sayid had.

Didn't Sayid say that the cable was a communications line?  I don't think that it's a power cord, it wouldn't make sense.  When they built the station, I'm guessing that they would have run a power supply via conduit underground to the station, as opposed to using an oversized extension cord.  If they would have simply cut the cord, it might have had the opposite effect, it might have caused the communications to be permanently jammed.

At least we know now that the cable doesn't travel outside of the metaphorical bubble. That would've been a lot of cable.

I have a feeling that the blonde women in the looking glass station might be the girl who gave Ben the doll when he was younger. The dark haired one looks quite a lot like the woman who helped Kate speak to her mother. I cant post a screenshot but check it out for yourself. Its a little vague and not much to go on but you gotta love theories.

Sayid's Bird....(funny BTW)....her name is Nadia....Yes, that was her...

I think that that would be an interesting twist if the Blonde(or the other one) was indeed Annie from Ben's childhood....Although, the little girl Annie had dark hair, so the new Annie would have to have hair coloring......And that's above and beyond the Pantene....

<*Update*>
I went back and rewatched the episode, and Sayid didn't say that the cable was a communications line.  But, if you listened to this weeks podcast, the producers did say that the reason that they didn't cut it is because it is possibly a communications line....They also gave a further explanation, it was pretty much what I said in my first post.....Cheesy

I just rewatched the greatest hits episode and it does clearly list the cable as an anchor on the prints that sayid is looking at.

Further more I dont know if this option was simply overlooked by the lostaways or there was some reason they did not attempt to cut the cable once they had posession of Naomi's phone. They could of disconected the cable to see if they could of gotten a signal before attempting the dive. It probally would not of been sucessful but I think it would of been worth trying before risking lives to get to a station that they believed was flooded.
