well i always hecard that it wasnt just a prop, i heard that it was made on purpose for the scene, but that could be wrong too.

yeah, i am guessing after last nights ep that the paper/obit was not "just" a prop it kinda went along with the show.

John Locke makes sense, as we learn at the end of the episode, Jack regrets leaving the Island to the point that he wants to commit suicide. Also, on the bridge he says something like forgive me God....which shows he has changed since the whole man of science-man of faith thing. I think that the person in the coffin is likely to be someone who warned him that he was doing the wrong thing getting the losties of the island.

So everything points to Locke, but this is Lost! so there are probably twists and turns to come.

I think all this points to ben more than locke...

This thread, last May.....

i think they did know, but it makes me wonder if the writers have planned on locke being in the casket since last season finale. or if its something they decided more recently. pretty crazy we finally found out something we have all pondered about for a whole year.

i was almost convinced they weren't going to show us.  i was watching the timer bar underneath go down as they were really slowly panning over the coffin, i thought it was just going to get to seeing and then it'd end, but thankfully not
