Hurley has another flashforward. He is playing basketball at the psych ward when jack comes to see him. He tells hurley that he is thinking of growing a beard. (that must’ve been before the end of the season 3 finale.)  He seems to be doing okay. It looks like hurley seems to be holding a grudge against jack for some reason.  He told the jack that he wouldn’t “tell”.  But as jack starts to walk out, he tells jack that he is sorry he went with locke and he wishes that he would’ve gone with jack.
Okay, this statement by Hurley has intrigued me for the entire season. And yet I have seen nothing in any episode this year that would cause Hurley to feel this way. What's the deal?

I agree. intriguing. the not tell part, I think just refers to the lie in general. about them being the only survivors. I don't have a CLUE about the rest of it. why he would say he was sorry for going with Locke to begin with. I am looking forward to hearing other's theories. LOL

Although, now that you brought it to my attention, it makes me wonder why he had to reassure Jack about that at all. Interesting.

I hope the "sorry he went with Locke" actually has some meaning and not just a cheap tease by the writers.

maybe that means that he and saywer would not have had to go after hurley. thus they wouldve gotten to the copter faster, thus they wouldve been able to get jin off the freighter before it blew up

I don't think it getting the chopper to the boat would have made it possible to get Jin on the chopper...the fact that they left the ship quickly was solely because of the impending explosion and had nothing to with their late arrival.

BTW...don't you think some of the other people on the ship would have tried to get on the chopper as well. I know I would have.

you know i was just thinking about this on lunch...hurley, IMO, did nothing to affect what happened with going with Locke....i cant really put together why he would feel the need to apologize.  I dont think that just because Jack and Sawyer had to go to the Orchid to get Hurley that it changed anything.  If Hurley would of went back to the beach he probably would of been on the zodiac to the freightor.

But i agree, I hope Hurley saying he is sorry isnt just cheap writing, and has some meaning.

Maybe he's saying for something we haven't seen yet. Locke did get back to the main land right, so maybe it had something to do with that.

I've always thought that he was sorry, not because it somehow changed the outcome of the situation, but maybe just down to a loyalty issue.

Jack & Hurley have always seemed to get on well together and by Hurley siding with Locke (even though it was done to the emotion of Charlie just dying), he perhaps felt that he betrayed his friendship with Jack.

i think it was refering to him going with locke.  because that wouldve changed everythign.  everything would have been happening a lot sooner.  that would have saved precious time.  because then they could have spared a little more time when they were on the boat.

and that even could have changed everythign, because you can never know what would have happened

1) that is not a spoiler because it has already happened.  I have been on this forum for a looong time and know more about where things should go than you might.
2) You probably shouldn't even be in the season 4 discussion board if you haven't seen season 4
3) I was elucidating on the topic at hand so even though I didn't have to write that, I was sharing my ideas about this topic

Please control yourself. I wouldn't be telling a moderator on this site that they suck.  I'm not going to do anything this time, but please watch what you type for the future.

as ben said, that was unnecessary. we dont post spoilers out in the open threads. there are lots of people that havent even seen season 2 yet, are we supposed to put all that in spoilers too? just have a huge spoilers section and thats it? whats the point in even having a forum? we talk about things when they come out, and if you havent seen season 4 yet, then stay the f*ck out of this section.

lol she did but she stuck it in the middle of the two quotes.

I agree. I don't think it was anything cryptic that we haven't seen yet. Just that he was always 'on Jack's side' and felt guilty for not sticking with him.
