Mixed Messages

Ok...I just rewatched the season finale. When Claire is in Aaron's room she tells Kate NOT to bring him back. However, Ben is all about bringing all the losties back to island.

What needs to be done? Bring them back or not?

Whoever it was; Ben is evil! He only wants what's best for him, not for anyone else. So maybe he just wants to get on the island himself, and because they all have to do it together, that's the way it's going to be for him.
It's always been a strange situation with Aaron, hasn't it? I think, if he gets back to the Island bad things are going to happen, things Ben doesn't care about because it doesn't concern him.

i dont know though, they have all been "people" talk to them about going back. Hurley talking to charlie. remember in the first ep this season charlie said "they need you" i think its true, i think they are needed back, why, i dont know. i also dont understand the aaron thing either, why the rest of them but him?

totally Debby88. i have been going off about this in many threads LOL. in varying forms. in a nutshell, it makes a lot more sense carting a little baby around a jungle island than a toddler. that just..well..frightens me ROTFL. I can't imagine it. not from a story point, and not from a production point. omg. too dangerous. I think the insurance alone on the production would be ASTRONOMICAL. because you know that its always twins or triplets anyways. I would think it would just be cost prohibitive.

I think this dream came to Kate after she spoke to Bentham/Locke, and he told her they all needed to go back. Jack said that Bentham/Locke told him very bad things happened on the island after they left. Maybe that's what he told Kate, too. That's why Claire is crying in Kate's dream, and that's why Claire doesn't want Aaron back on the island. But Ben will of course insist that they all must go back, regardless to the danger any of them faces. Now that Bentham's true ID is finally revealed, I can see episode 1 of next season centering around Locke leaving the island, taking on the fake ID, and going around to all the Oceanic 6 and trying to get them to go back. They'll probably finish with Locke's suicide/murder.

I think Claire just doesn't want him to go back to the island cos he has a good life where he is at the moment. He was peaceful and content in his sleep. Of course Claire would want what's best for him.

Kate was woken up by clatter downstairs in her house, then the phone rang with the crazy message and THEN she went to Aaron's room and saw Claire. It's almost as if "the island" (I say that cos I've no idea who the call was from), interrupted Claire to get to Kate first - trying to bring her back.

Mixed messages right enough! I'm going to need to watch the finale again in a few days time to try take it all in!!

It's tough to say with any certainty.
It's pretty much established that anyone who gets to the island has a predetermined reason to, or the island itself has need of them.
It could be a combination of ANY of the above characters, but more likely just the O6, I think...

i agree with Dan as to why claire doesnt want aaron back on the island. if bad things did happen after they left then she'd want him as far away from that as possible. do you guys think that this 'claire' could be claire appearing in different places like walt, and that she comes in to watch aaron sleep quite frequently to keep an eye on him or was it just this one time?

well it depends because claire was in kates dream that time. so if claire is really dead and is like charlie then i would say yes. if claire isnt dead then i would say that that was claire in kates dream. lol this is so confuseing cause even when someones dead they arnt dead!!

yeah i think everyone has to go back thats left the island. even ben?

Well I think Claire is def still on the island cos she said "Don't you dare bring him back" as opposed to "Don't take him back" which would make me think that Claire was no longer on the island as such.

I think she maybe just appeared in Kate's dream like Walt has appeared to different people.
