There has been much evidence pointing toward Jin being alive after the Oceanic Six leave the island. If this is the case, why did Sun tell her father she holds him responsible for Jin's death? What could possibly gained by that lie?

Well I suppose he sorta is responsible in a way.... Mr Paik had sent Jin to deliver watches in both Sydney & LA then Sun & Jin were going to make a fresh start. But they obviously got on 815 which crashed on the island.
When Sun went to visit her father, it wasn't that long after they got home so if there's any clues as to Jin's whereabouts, they might still be hidden by the cover story, and Mr Paik would be none-the-wiser.

no your not missing anything obvious. its just that on his grave it said he died on September 22, 2002. the day the plane crashed. we know he didnt really die then.
right so he is responsible, if not for his death the fact that hes stuck on the island

Personally i think something happens and he dies on the frieghter along with the other survivors who arent part of the Oceanic 6

I mean, when you stop to think about it, there is still no REAl proof that Jin is dead... he was on deck when the freighter blew.
He could have been blown off the deck and survived still.
but there is NO WAY that Michael is still alive.

Jin is alive! He was drowning after the explosion but when Ben turned the frozen donkey wheel it mad the island move and it popped up right beneath Jin! Thank God!

i dont even want to say that jin is dead, this is lost you know, he could be alive. sun was acting like he was off the island in her flashforward, when she was talking to widmore. she honestly believes that he is alive and there has got to be a reason for that.

Jin's dead he has to be
if he didnt die from the explosion, then he died from drowning
if he doesnt drown and gets hold of some wreckage (like in season 1 wen the raft blew up
) then he dies from dehydration/hunger
Jin isnt in the islands perminmeter, because the heli started to go back to the island before ben turns the wheel so the heli is actually closer to the island then the freighter was, and the heli isnt with the island, so the freighter is still at sea...alone
