i think as everyone is linked in some way then there will be a few people who are key to the whole mystery and there will be some important link that they all share, like contact with a certain person or something like that

yeh its hard to say if there will be one key person, Iv thought for some time that Hurley and Christian Shephard will be "key", but there are so many prominent characters- Ben, Locke, Jacob, Widmore, Walt, Desmond, Jack to name a few
