hmm. you think that the whispers were talking to each other inside the shack and that "somebody" was hurley. or the whispers were talking to hurley and that somebody was the peple on the boat

very good questions. Could be that the island was telling jacob about Hurley or it very well could be, telling Hurley about the boat. That might not be what it says, hopefully we will find out.

i read that sometimes for the whispers they have different sections on which they say roughly the same thing but each is on either the left, right or center of the audio track then the tracks are played simultaneously and that's why some of the whispering is hard to make out.
