Maybe their is another group of people on the Island? Next week is supposed to be an episode that brings back the eye patch man, and it show's a ?possible? gun fight including the eye patch man. Maybe he's part of a group of people that aren't the others, but are living on the island. Maybe the Others aren't Dharma employees, instead they might have been sent there to remove the Dharma Initiative, and these folks are what's left of the Dharma Initiative?
It's a stretch, but then so is most of what I say...
