Sayid and Kate try to negotiate for Locke's hostage, whom they think might be the key to getting off the island.

yeah, that could be....Maybe the way that Jack and Kate are allowed to leave the Island is if they get the Hostage back from John.

A casting call notice for this episode mentions the role of Daniel/Dante. Dante is an Italian businessman in his 40s. He knows the fun of a little competition, is affable and friendly but with a secret. The part is for a one day guest star.

It is a Sayid-centric episode and will feature a flash-forward. In the future, Sayid will be living in Germany with a girlfriend called Elsa, she is mad at him because he refuses to tell her about his very mysterious new job. On island, Hurley will be kidnapped. A couple of losties move to Othersville and hear some noise. Kate realises that the noise is coming from Juliet's house -, and and finally finds Hurley stuck inside the closet. Ken Leung plays Miles. Sayid and Locke realize there is something wrong with newcomers Miles, Faraday and Charlotte – whom look like to be Naomi's partners -, but don't know what to do with them and don't agree. While Sayid wants to go to the freighter with Charlotte - it appears that she'll get a boat to get back to the HQ -, Locke prefers to trust in Ben, who said that he's got a spy on the boat. Kate and Sawyer will pass through a misunderstanding.

Sayid is now allied with Ben. This episode plays like a mini James Bond movie. It reveals that in the future Sayid is an assassin / operative for Ben. At the end of the episode Sayid gets shot and contacts Ben for covert medical help. Miles has a connection with the people who "confirmed dead" the 815ers.

In the future, Sayid will be living in Germany with a girlfriend called Elsa. It's winter because there's snow in the streets. Elsa is mad at Sayid because he refuses to tell her about his very mysterious new job. Elsa seems to be a lovely girl, but she may not exactly be who she says either. Sayid tells a contact he's one of the Oceanic Six, and he doesn't work anymore because of a settlement he received as the result of a plane crash.
On the island, Sayid stands beside the helicopter and is silenty praying for Naomi. Jack and Juliet walk by, Jack is asking if Juliet is sure that Ben never mentioned meeting anybody off the island. Miles comes after them, saying that it is a simple thing, do they or don’t they know the whereabouts of Benjamin Linus? He says the people who hired him told him to locate Ben, that’s all, and for what they are paying him he doesn’t need to know anything else. Jack tells Miles that Ben is with Locke, that Locke also has Charlotte and that Locke is the one who killed Naomi. As Miles aks his gun back, Jack tells him he wants answers first. Miles says he doesn’t trust Jack either (he’s supposed to be dead anyway) but that they have the same goal: Locke. He proposes to attack Locke’s group, together.

Meanwhile Sayid closes Naomi’s eyes and takes of her bracelet. It has an insciption: “N. I’ll always be with you. R.G.” He then interrupts the argument between Jack and Miles, saying that they are not going anywhere. He asks Lapidus if the helicopter will fly again. As Lapidus confirms this, Sayid asks to be taken to the freighter. Lapidus says that he is low on fuel and can only take three of them because of the weight, provided they bring back Charlotte safely.

Ben may be the key to getting off the island, so Sayid and Kate take Miles to Otherville in an attempt to negotiate a peaceful deal. Once there, it appears to be deserted. Miles ask about the swingset, if these people have daycare? Then they hear some noise in Juliet's house. They find Hurley gagged and bound, stuck inside the closet. Hurley tells them he was left there by Locke and that the group moved on. He is babbling about Walt and starts off on the wrong foot with Miles: "great, the ship is sending us another Sawyer". Hurley then asks Miles straight out if the freighters are there to kill them. Miles answers with a develish grin: "Not yet".

Kate and Sayid locate Locke's groupe. Sayid and Locke realize there is something wrong with Miles, Faraday and Charlotte, but don't know what to do with them and don't agree.
