mmm okai ..whyu assume that john was dead and alive at the same time ?! is there anything i missed that says that he was alive at the same time on the island? why isnt he just DEAD  full stop!!!

i dont know why i assume that....just a theory really, and if your going to give someone a twist, cant much better than having someone alive and dead at the sametime.....like how at one point the doctor was....we seen him wash up dead....but also be alive on the freightor the next episode....

Its all just theories, and i just really hate the idea of Locke being resurrected from the dead...if that happens then yeah itll explain christian, but i just dont like that story for Locke

Everyone seemed to jump to that idea straight away so if the writers do that its gonna be a bit of a let down. Lets hope they come up with something out of the blue.

Depending on what coordinates they come in on Lockes dead body could run into Lockes live body(so to speak) on the island if and when they get back. Will the two meeting finally let past time catch up with future time? and wouldn't the locke "exchange" but on the same line of Desmond's expeience and at the same time be quite the opposite too?

I have seen people using the doctor as evidence that someone cab be alive and dead at the same time. I might have missunderstood but I was under the impression that this show has never implied the doctor was dead and alive at the same time. It perhaps appears as if they did because there story telling jumps around on the shows timeline so much. I truly believe once you die your dead in all timelines.

I think what makes it confusing is that there is some sort of time distortion that occurs getting on and off the island. If you go back to one the earlier episodes when Faraday has on a watch that was sychnorized with the boats time. They conduct an experiment where they launch a rocket and record the time that it launches and the time it comes into view. I froget the exact time difference involved but I remember thinking that it was illustrating not an exact time difference between the island and the boat but rather that time was moving at a difference in speed. The result being the time lag they recorded. With that in mind a body floating into the water could easily seem like there was a 12 hour difference between island and boat time while in reality it only took a few hours for the body to wash up to shore. If I remember correctly I think they even made a point to show a shot of a watch on the doctors wrist wheen he washed up. This actually one of the few asspects of the show I feel they were somewhat clear about.

ok let me see if i think i understand what you're saying.

you're saying that the time on the island moves at a different speed than time not on the island.  Now if thats what you're saying then the time difference can't be that great or else whichever time moved faster wouldn't they have gotten a lot older than like their family members.  like saying wouldnt hurly have looked a lot older to his parents or vise versa?  because wasn't it probably a good 12 hours of time "difference" of the doctors death?

uh oh the doctor thing again lol.....i thought we all agreed that the doctors deady body time travelled back one day into the past on the island???  I just rewatched that episode awhile ago, and I clearl remember the doctors body washed up on the island, the episode plays through and he is not killed til after Frank took Michael down to see him(The part where we see the equipment Keamy has put on his arm).

The coptor is being reload, the one guy mentions to the doc that he received a morse code from the beach that a doctor washed up dead on the island with his throat slashed, the doctor saying how he is the only doctor on the boat.  then Frank refuses to fly the chopper, Keamy kills the doctor and throws him in the water....  So basically we see the doctor dead on the island before he is killed, which means whatever bearing his dead body was heading, set him back a day in the past.....so instead of being killed on the 13th and washing ashore after the 13th, he washed ashore on the 12th.....

I dont think the time "difference" on the island played any part into that
