Sorry, this isn't quite a theory, but it's soething I've been dying to ask since I haven't really seen another post on any lost forum that has asked it.

What do you think will be the huge series finale? How will Darlton and co. bring this series known for its neverending questions real closure?

Thankfully, they've already stated that it won't be a cop-out ending like a literal St. Elsewhere snowglobe or Jack's dream on a beach or anything else like that. So what do you think will happen, what would you like to see.

I was re-reading Watchmen the other day, Damon's favorite piece of lit, and I noticed a ton of correlations to Lost. Now we know that the crew has repeatedly said they knew the ending from Day One. That leads me to believe that in one of those first writing sessions that Damon must've pulled out his favorite book, recalling it's island references and suggested cribbing some of the themes and concepts from there.

That's why I think the finale, and perhaps the final stretch of episodes will have to deal with the end of the world as in Watchmen. I don't think you could bring the series to a stunning climax without such high stakes. But I have no idea what that could mean.

I have a lot of what ifs; what if Skater/Jater triangle ends with Jack as the "Doc" Manhanttan, and Kate and Saywer as Sally and Dan (this would only make sense if you've read Watchmen)? What if Widmore is the Ozymandias character? I think that this is particularly interesting as it plays to my prediction that at some point in S5, WIdmore is going to reclaim the island, possibly with the aid of Sun to the obliviousness of the rest of the O6.

Those are just a couple of Watchmen cribbing guesses. Please fell free to muse and post your thoughts.

Im not familiar with the book so I cant really say much about weather or not it fits in line with that story. I will however say this; I am on record as saying the writers are going to have a very difficult time in wrapping this story up, but the more I think about it, I think it's more us who are having a hard time wrapping it up in our heads. Sometime things very difficult to explain before they are explained, but once they are, the answer seems rather obvious. Like it was staring at us in the face the whole time. I'm guessing that this is going to be one of those moments. At least thats what I'm hoping for. I clearly could not even begin to guess the season ending of this show, I mean I have a hard enough time trying to explain things that we have already seen, LOL.

Some of the things I'm hoping to learn more about in this upcoming season;

1. The "ghosts"
2. Jacob
3. The four toed statue
4. The slave boat
5. Widmore
6. the brain washing room
7. the lists
8. the boat people
9. Richard and the others
10. the wheel

Thats my top ten list of things Im hoping the show centers on

I know that there are many many many literary references in LOST from numerous books and authors. So even if there are references from Watchmen, I dont think that necessarily means the end of the show will be based on that one book.
